13 million raised for Africa famine

The Dutch Association of Charities has raised 13 million for drought and famine victims in the Horn of Africa, a spokesperson says.

Next week the charities will launch a large-scale campaign to raise more funds for the million of victims.

The drought is affecting more than 10 million people in Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia.

Somalia has been hardest hit, with the UN declaring a famine in several regions.
