Young Moroccans: harsh political response. Just a few comments made by politicians from across the political spectrum during a recent debate about integration in the Dutch parliament. It sounds pretty bad.

'More immigrants are enrolled in higher education and more are graduating from secondary school. There's also been a sharp rise in the number of immigrants in the workforce.' -- This couldn't possibly be because there are more Moroccan people here every year, could it? If integration is going so marvelously, why are many Dutch people are afraid of going out on the streets in certain areas, especially at night?
IMHO, I think the integration in NL doesn't exist at all. NL is by far the toughest country for immigrants for ANY country. I arrived to NL in March 2007 -- and I was supposed to stay at least 3 years. I could not hold that long. I already left...it is really hard to "integrate" with the Dutch society.
Plus, I think the work subject is crap. What about housewifes and other people who do not have that kind of interaction????
Integration is a two way street, immigrants need to integrate and indigenes need to open up. I studied in the Netherlands and i saw a lot of faults on both sides. Integration is good to avoid friction and confrontation amongst inhabitants but your politicians need to educate the Dutch citizens on their social skills. The Wilders and Verdonks are not helping matters by stoking fear.
