What do you like about doing business in the Netherlands?

As an expat myself, I have had to do a considerable amount of research to find the right people to recommend. As such my expats clients can be reassured that their money is being well spent. Luckily, I am also attracting Dutch property owners and my Dutch is good enough...

What do you find most frustrating about doing business in the Netherlands?

I only recommend tradesmen who share my view in giving a good service and thinking ouside-the-box. This is not a widely shared viewpoint in Amsterdam but it does set my business apart from others.

Renovation project: AfterWhat hurdles did you encounter when setting up?
None as I already had an established network in and around the housing industry. So I was able to ask for advice.

Has the economic crisis affected your business?

Not really. As I only started a year ago and the current economic situation is all I know.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs setting up business in the Netherlands?

Speak some Dutch, join at least one networking group and get advice from individuals who work in areas not too far from your own.

How does running a business in the Netherlands compare to running a business in other countries that you have lived in?

I do not know as this is the first time I have had my own business.
