Chad Bilyeu's alternative view of Amsterdam Chad bilyeu offers his view of Amsterdam through pictures he considers as "blunt as the Dutch." Enjoy!

As co-organizer and one of the featured artists of Amsterdam 2.0, Chad showcased his talents in event planning and photography. He is dedicated to "discovery, creation and the attainment of knowledge."

 "Where For Art Thou?"

Nothing can keep true love apart. Not even the luxury penitentiary that is the Bijlmerbajes...

"Ass Out" in Amsterdam Photo © Chad Bilyeu

 "Ass Out"

This dude was in Leidseplein pushing around a little cart. He undressed down to his thong and rested his clothing on said little cart. Armed with only a thong and a tray to collect tips, he walks through the densely packed area where everybody is eating at, collecting said tips. About €40 later, he goes back to his cart and puts his clothes back on...

"Light Sleeper"

I wouldn't say that this city never sleeps, but it is always at least half-awake...

"Sky High"--Amsterdam Photo © Chad Bilyeu

 "Sky High"

If one keeps their camera with them as much as possible, one is always prepared when beauty presents itself. Sunsets as gorgeous as this do not happen every evening...

"Almost Chicken Soup" -- Amsterdam Photo © Chad Bilyeu

  "Almost Chicken Soup"
Despite the loss, folks got to party for the World Cup finals. You can't be mad at that at all.
I got the chance to document some of the day...

"Lady of the Evening" Amsterdam Photo © Chad Bilyeu

 "Lady of the Evening"

The type of picture that will result in you getting your ass beat by Russian pimps and thrown in a canal. Don't be a nimrod like me; no picture taking in the Red Light District. Over on the more discreet Red Light District on Spuistraat...

Hi Chad, I love your Sky High photo. It's beautiful. You were very lucky to capture the beauty of the sunset, adding the pink tinge to the sky and the reflection on the water. I'm taking an intermediate photography course here in Amsterdam and I have learned to take my camera with me wherever I go. I have kicked myself in the past when I've missed the opportunities of taking some fabulous photos of scenes around Amsterdam because I didn't have my camera with me. Keep up the good work. Martina.
