One photographer looks with fresh eyes at Dutch gable architecture in the capital.Amsterdam photographer Niek Biegman had never really noticed the unusual cream or white 'wigs' that adorn many Amsterdam houses. Then, after a long stay abroad, he returned to look with fresh eyes at Dutch gable architecture in the capital.
Mr Biegman has assembled hundreds of photos in his bilingual book 'Whipped Cream and other delights of Amsterdam architecture." He hopes the photos will inspire tourists - as well as Amsterdammers - to look up as they walk through the city.
As well as being a photographer, Niek Biegman is the former Dutch ambassador to Egypt and was also top diplomat at NATO and the UN.
