Where to party in Amsterdam on New Year's eve.

On New Year's Eve in Amsterdam the crowds (bottle in hand) head for the squares of central Amsterdam -- especially Dam Square, Rembrandtplein, Nieuwmarkt and Leidseplein. Locals are more likely to stay near home -- street parties abound -- and the Jordaan neighborhood and the cafés of the Western Canal Ring have a more local feel. Expect loads of fireworks!

Here's our listing of parties in Amsterdam should you wish to be inside when the clocks chime.
