A hundred full-size elephants swarm the streets of Amsterdam as part of an exhibition which runs until 31 October. Alex Cima captures the colourful herd in his lens.Amsterdams Elephant Parade, which is dedicated to the Asian elephant, follows successful editions in Rotterdam and Antwerp. The exhibition in Amsterdam is the largest so far.
Those interested can take a special tour to see all the elephants which are located at several hotspots in the Amsterdam city centre: Museum Square, Spui, Westermarkt, Koningsplein, Kalvertoren…
The benefits of the out door exhibition go to the Elephant Family, the largest elephant charity in the world, which was founded in 2002 by Mark Shand. A globetrotter, philantropist and writer, Shand made the BBC documentary Queen of the Elephants.
