At last - somebody who understands dogs and how they should behave in public. There have been countless comments on the discussion board about dogs chasing and barking at cyclist, which some people seem to think is OK. I have witnessed dogs who have cornered a jogger with aggressive barking and the owners have just ignored this behaviour and just called the dog (who ignores them). I just wish people could be trained to look after their dogs.
>>>Since moving here, I have witnessed countless instances of dog owners showing absolutely no respect to non-owners’ feelings.<<<<<
This has nothing to do with dogs, really - this is just a general reality of how people behave in NL. People here do not seem to care about how their actions affect others. You can see it every day in how they walk, drive, shop, and yes, with their dogs and children.... my late dog was attacked twice by a neighbors dog who was not on a leash - no apology, no reimbursement for the vet bills, no acknowledgement of wrong-doing....
Wow.. no mention of the callous disregard for others that most dog owners have when it comes to POOP.... ?!
