Since 2006, some 3000 highly educated workers have come to the Netherlands from India.Most are working in the IT industry, which desparately needed highly educated personnel.
The number of non-European immigrants coming to the Netherlands has risen sharply recently because the government has made it easier by setting up special facilities to speed up the granting of a residence permit for educated migrants.
Nitin Singh works at the European head office of Tata Consultancy Services, a large consultancy bureau with roots in India. He came to the Netherlands eight months ago to work in the personnel department. He lives in Amstelveen, and feels very comfortable in the Netherlands, as you'll see in this video:
