Versch Festival: Innovative Electronic Music Amsterdam | 00/00/0000 - 06/05/2008
The festival continues with a showcase of innovative electronic music and includes a live set by Conforce (NL), Fred Hush (Belgium), Boris Ross (NL) and DJ Steijn (NL). Conforce began a love affair with electronic music at 10, influencing his Detroit tech-house style. He released his first 12", Our Concern, on Rush Hour Recordings last year, garnering a big thumbs up from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, DJ 3000 and DJINXX. Fred Hush simply plays good electronic music – feel good grooves with a sexy, dangerous and dark touch. The cult hit Open Your Eyes (by Bruno Quartier, Etienne Vandewiele and Fred Hush) has featured in over 100 compilations globally, and been remixed by Nalin and Kane, Markus Schulz, Bush 2 Bush and Tiësto. Boris Ross has been DJing and making music for as long as he can remember. His first digital release on Grammafoon was picked up by Tiefschwarz for airplay on BBC One's 30 Minutes Mix and his first 12" release on Luxaflex Records was discovered by Loco Dice and signed on the TDK Timewarp CD 2007. He cross-pollinates funky rolling electronic house with a blend of techno, minimal, house and groove.
