- For the fifth year in a row - more leave than arriveI moved across the border to Belgium, and I can say that many of the locals are more surly, unmotivated, unsocial incompetent and poorly behaved than Dutch people. The drivers are far worse, the taxes far higher and intellectual level of many leaves you wondering how many of them managed to put their shoes on in the morning. - US/NL dual Nationality: other side of the coinWhat are you people talking about? I've come and gone across US borders for years, and never had any problems. Officials can ask themselves as many questions as they want, but as a US citizen they have to let you in. I don't think that the US should recognize same sex 'marriages', but if the Dutch want to and want to give you a passport because of it, well that's their business. (Some of us can't have this because we never shacked up with a local.) - Useless Politie / Police RantI've had mixed results with the Dutch police, but definitely go after the guy who tried to tell you off. Make sure that a lawyer follows up. I've heard of disciplinary cases in Amsterdam being handled after a complaint..., 05/10/2008 06:11
