Wilders wants dangerous schools reported 02/11/2007 00:00

2 November 2007

THE HAGUE – The Freedom Party PVV launched a website on Friday to collect reports on failing safety at schools. The reporting point on the internet was set up after a series of recent stabbings near and at schools.

"Much is going wrong at schools. The recent stabbings, but also the survey which showed that weapon possession among school students has gone up 20 percent. I want to hear more reports of what is actually going on," PVV leader Geert Wilders says. "Danger at schools must be put on the agenda now. The culture of silence must be ended."

The PVV wants stern measures. A mobile police unit should make unannounced visits to schools to check for weapons. The party also thinks that school headmasters should be required to file a report of any violent incidents at their school.
