AMSTERDAM – Some wealthy people would rather their assets not be mentioned in Quote 500, others are on the phone to the Quote editors to report their wealth. It emerged this year that the rich in the Netherlands have once again gotten richer.
Quote presented its new list of the 500 wealthiest families in the Netherlands on Wednesday in the Hollandsche Manege in Amsterdam.
The Brenninkmeijer family (C&A) tops the list again with an estimated fortune of EUR 18.5 billion. Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken of the famous brewery follows with EUR 5.6 billion.
The Van der Vorm family (Holland America Line Investments) is in third place with EUR 3.9 billion. They move up three places from their sixth position ranking last year.
All in all the Q-listers are good for a total of more than EUR 136.6 billion, compared to EUR 121.5 billion last year. The average fortune is about EUR 273.3 million. The lowest ranked entry on the list has a fortune of EUR 48 million.
