Woman granted asylum in Zuma affair
The Netherlands has for political reasons issued a 5-year residence permit to the woman who accused former South African vice president Jacob Zuma of rape last year. The woman, Fezeka Kuzwayo, came to the Netherlands with her mother in 2006. Insiders say high level political consultation was held on her arrival.
Minster regrets comments on Uruzgan
Defence Minister Van Middelkoop apologised to Parliament on Monday for his statements on a possible extension of the military mission in Uruzgan last week.

Gouden Kooi fallen from grace
Large companies like Albert Heijn, Heineken, Phillips, ABN Amro and Renault should not allow their commercials to be shown before, during or after reality television programme De Gouden Kooi. VMBO students turned away from school party

Connexxion is going to offer public transport services in Germany and Scandinavia. Essent-Nuon merger a step closer
The merger of energy companies Essent and Nuon has come a step closer. The province of Friesland, which holds a 12.6-percent stake in Nuon, is no longer opposed to the merger. Christian democrat CDA representative for Friesland Sjoerd Galemavan has said this. His predecessor and fellow CDA member Jan Ploeg did not want to see the creation of a national energy giant.

ANWB to predict delays
Motorists' ANWB is going to incorporate information on tailbacks in its new route planner. With the help of a "tailback predictor" developed by TNO the expected delay will be incorporated in the travel times given by the planner. The route planner will be ready "in a few weeks at the latest," says Arnoud Broekhuis of the ANWB.
Parliament discusses child-rearing courses
Parliament will discuss the plans from Minister Rouvoet for mandatory child-rearing courses on Wednesday. Whether these courses will work is another matter. "If there is any area in which people don't want others looking over their shoulder, it is in raising their children."

Heineken robbed of EUR 2.6 million
Heineken has fallen victim to defrauders who managed to remove an amount of EUR 2.6 million from the company's account this spring.
Revoke allowance for misbehaving children
The state should revoke the allowance for children aged 8 to 12 if they terrorise others on the street and show criminal behaviour. These children should be required to spend 12 hours a day at school to be taught manners in addition to regular education.
