Winter sport enthusiasts who return from holiday with an injury and those who have an accident in the kitchen should no longer be on full pay at the employer's expense.

AMSTERDAM – Winter sport enthusiasts who return from holiday with an injury and those who have an accident in the kitchen should no longer be on full pay at the employer's expense.
This is the position of MKB Nederland, the association of small and medium-sized businesses, the Telegraaf reports. The sector organisation wants the responsibility to be shared equally.
The MKB will present Parliament with a list on Wednesday of nine causes of absenteeism for which the businesses no longer want to offer full pay. The list contains only those accidents that are caused by factors outside of the control of the business.
"We do not see why an employer with six personnel should be in a difficult financial position because two of his employees broke a leg skiing," the chairman of the MKB told the morning paper.
Employers do not want to pay for absence due to sport and holiday injuries, reckless driving and plastic surgery for which there is no medical necessity.
