AMSTERDAM - A group of squatters that occupied an annex of Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum on Friday left the building of their own free will on Monday.

A spokesperson for the museum said they had left it neat and tidy.

About 80 people took over the building as part of an international squatting day. They conducted workshops on squatting and use of public space.

The Dutch squatters movement also took over buildings and held workshops in Nijmegen, Utrecht, Den Bosch and Deventer.
