Rob van Gijzel was made new mayor in the council meeting on Monday evening.

EINDHOVEN - Rob van Gijzel was installed as Eindhoven's new mayor at an extraordinary council meeting late on Monday evening. The Labour Party politician beat a fellow Labour Party politician in January's mayoral referendum.
The council also used the occasion to thank acting-mayor Gerrit Braks, who filled the post for seven months.
