All Dutch personnel involved in combat will be awarded special insignia for their dangerous work.

THE NETHERLANDS - Dutch military leaders have announced that all military personnel involved in combat will be awarded a special insignia in recognition of the difficult and dangerous work that they do.
Dutch military personnel have been complaining about the lack of recognition, and also about the way the Afghanistan mission is viewed.
They say the deployment to Uruzgan is seen as reconstruction work, when in fact they are mainly involved in combat missions.
In future, all military personnel who have fought in Iraq and Afghanistan will be eligible for the new insignia, which can be worn on any uniform.
