Health Insurance board pushes for cuts 15/04/2008 00:00
The Dutch Health Care Insurance Board says the recommended cuts are necessary to keep health care affordable.

The Dutch Health Care Insurance Board (CVZ) has advised health minister Ab Klink to introduce a number of changes to the 2009 basic health care package.
The CVZ has recommended that, unless there is a medical need for a more expensive version, they will only cover the cost of cheap anti-cholesterol drugs.
The insurance board also recommended discontinuing covering the cost of special chairs for the elderly, and telephones with larger buttons and displays for people with visual impediments.
The CVZ says the cuts are necessary in order to keep health care affordable for everyone.
