UTRECHT – The average company canteen would be improved with a bit more variety in the tea selection, according to 50 percent of Dutch workers. One in three workers even takes his own tea to work because there is not enough selection.
Tea giant Pickwick concluded this on Wednesday after a Motivaction survey of 520 people. They said they'd particularly like to see more fruit teas, rooibos and seasonal tea at work.
Most people drink tea as a pick-me-up in the afternoon (64 percent) and while chatting with colleagues (56 percent).
The research agency also asked workers what tea varieties they preferred to drink while doing certain tasks. About 20 percent said they like to work through their emails with a cup of green tea.
Earl Grey is very popular for meetings, according to researchers. Rooibos gets brewed in anticipation of a gossip session and to improve one's mood.
