AMSTERDAM – Two Dutch sisters have been sentenced to 21 and 18 years in prison for smuggling 115 kg of heroin. Jacqueline and Manon M. were arrested in the British port city of Harwich in June last year.

They had hidden the drugs in a van packed with furniture. The value of the drugs was reportedly more than GBP 5 million.

29-year-old Jacqueline and 45-year-old Manon were found guilty in a British court last month. The sentence was determined this week however.

The drug haul was one of the largest in Harwich's history.
