THE NETHERLANDS - Campina wants to start delivering fruit as well as milk to primary schools in 2009.

To find out whether such a plan will take off, the company is beginning a test run on Friday at 36 primary schools in Rotterdam, Ridderkerk, Katwijk and Wassenaar.

Approximately 1,350 children will take part. Each child will receive small baskets of fresh cut fruit on the days their parents have chosen.

Each basket will cost EUR 0.65 and there will be two types of basket to choose from.
