2004 event
Expatica's first welcome fair a big hit with expats
More than 3,500 people visited Expatica's Welcome to the Netherlands fair in the Beurs van Berlage in central Amsterdam on Sunday 24th October 2004 and it certainly lived up to its billing as the only event designed to "tell you everything you need to know about Dutch life in one day".
There were a total of 85 stands with exhibitors including financial firms, estate and relocation agencies, recruitment agencies, schools and universities, social and sports clubs and bookstores.
The Beurs van Berlage is considered Holland's most important 19th-century architectural monument. The imposing building is an eye-catching feature in Amsterdam's cityscape. Coming from the direction of Amsterdam Central Station you will soon see the elongated building with its orange bricks on your left.
"Given the number of visitors and the general hunger for good quality information about setting up home in the Netherlands, we see there is great potential to make this an annual event," Expatica's Marketing and Events Manager Mark Batty said.
The date for the 2005 event has already been set as Sunday 9th October 2005, tickets will be available online. Please contact Mike De Haan at Expatica (020 888 4298) if you are Interested in exhibiting at the 2005 Welcome to the Netherlands Fair.
