Help! The expatriate has collected their visa and will travel in November, but how do they register with the town hall before they arrive? The shipper wants a copy of the registration now or their furniture won’t be delivered on time!

Negotiating the immigration and municipal procedures can be a frustrating experience. Getting the right information isn’t straight forward and wherever you turn, people trying to help actually provide conflicting advice.

  • The salaries department wants the BSN number to initiate pay-roll from day one. The town hall says it takes three weeks to issue.
  • The shippers want a document to say the expatriate is registered at the local town hall, before he’s left the country!
  • The town hall refuses to register the expatriate in the GBA until they have been to Immigration and have a signed rental contract.
  • The IND tell you that if you’d paid the ‘leges’ by direct debit, the decision could have been made up to ten weeks earlier.

You are quickly coming to the conclusion that the expatriate will be yet another month before they are in place to take up their position!

Relocating people successfully with the minimum of stress is a complex process.
