Expatica / Lexlumen HR Seminar 21 June, 2012

Masterclass Cross-border Labour
Complex legal, tax and HR issues

Several recent legal and fiscal changes affect both Dutch employees abroad and expatriates in the Netherlands.  To reduce the potential negative influence of these changes, effective time management is needed. This will not only save costs but also saves valuable time for the company. This annual masterclass helps to understand these legal and fiscal changes and emphasizes consequences of the latest developments of cross-border labour. The event takes place on the 21st of June at the Business University of Nijenrode.

Choose the masterclass that fits your practice! Specialists from PwC, the University of Amsterdam, Houthoff Buruma, Deloitte and the Royal Tropical Intsitute will teach you all about the 5 pillars of cross-border labour:

- Tax
- International Labour Law
- Human Resources
- International Social Security
- Pensions

The following topics will be covered:

- The new 30% rule that was implemented on January 1: What are the implications for expats who started their employment before January 1st?
- Supreme Court judgment of February 24th: Does this imply that you always require permission from the UWV to terminate an employment contract with an expat?
- International pension institutions since 2011: What are the pros and cons of implementing a cross-border pension scheme?
- Supreme Court judgment of February 3rd: Which country has jurisdiction?
- International Social Security: Recent changes in the export of a number of benefits. Is an expat still entitled to child support during his or her time abroad?
