Paris | 14/05/2009 - 00/00/0000 The Lion King

Musical comedy based on Walt Disney’s animated film “The Lion King” written by Elton John and Tim Rice. Directed by Julie Taymor using actors in animal costumes as well as giant, hollow puppets, featuring about 40 artistes and 20 actors. Mufasa, the king of all lions, has a baby called Simba. This greatly angers Mufasa's brother Scar, who would have been next in line to the throne. Therefore Scar wants to kill Simba and Mufasa, and leads them to a gorge. Mufasa is killed by a herd of Wildebeest, and Simba is led to believe by Scar that he is responsible for his death. Simba then runs away, while Scar becomes king of the pridelands. As Simba has grown up, he returns to the pridelands with the help of some new friends, where he has a final battle with Scar and wins back the pridelands.
