A decision by French prosecutors on Tuesday to open a murder enquiry into Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's 2004 death is of no concern to Israel, the foreign ministry said.
"Israel does not feel this investigation is of any concern to it despite all the hare-brained allegations made against us," ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said.
"I hope this enquiry throws light on every aspect of this affair," he added.
The French decision on the murder probe comes after Arafat's family launched legal action in France last month over claims the veteran Palestinian leader died of radioactive polonium poisoning.
The decision was welcomed by the Palestinians. "We hope the French investigation will satisfy our desire for truth," senior Palestinian official Saeb Erakat told AFP.
