PARIS, July 20 (AFP) - A 24 year-old Frenchman named as Ihab Slimane was confirmed Wednesday as a victim of the London bombings on July 7.

PARIS, July 20 (AFP) - A 24 year-old Frenchman named as Ihab Slimane was confirmed Wednesday as a victim of the London bombings on July 7.

President Jacques Chirac issued a statement to express "the solidarity of the entire nation with his family which has been hit by this terrible sadness."

Slimane, who was born in Lyon to a family of Tunisian origin, died in the explosion at Russell Square tube station. He had trained as a computer programmer and was in London to improve his English.
