PARIS, July 5, 2007 (AFP) - French President Nicolas Sarkozy made big promises during his recent election campaign, and a guy named Mustapha Smail plans to tell the world whether he keeps them.

Smail has started a website called www.Clameo.fr that aims to keep track of whether Sarkozy holds to his campaign promises. He said the site would remain politically neutral, with an interest only in holding Sarkozy to his word.

"What will remain of the words, of the promises, in a few months, a few years?" the site founded by Smail, a director for a technology company, says in defining its role.
