Versailles night tour to aid tsunami victims

VERSAILLES, France, Jan 5 (AFP) - The Versailles chateau outside Paris will specially open its doors to visitors one night next week to raise money for a charity sending humanitarian relief to tsunami-hit Asia, the palace's management said Wednesday.

VERSAILLES, France, Jan 5 (AFP) - The Versailles chateau outside Paris will specially open its doors to visitors one night next week to raise money for a charity sending humanitarian relief to tsunami-hit Asia, the palace's management said Wednesday.

All money raised on the occasion, to be held from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm (1800 GMT to 2200 GMT) next Wednesday, January 12, will go to UNICEF France, with the chateau's employees working for free.

Visitors who make a donation as they enter will be treated to a nocturnal tour of the palace's Grand Apartments.
