CHAMONIX, France, May 3 (AFP) - The body of a 24-year-old American skier who went missing in the French Alps in January was found Monday in an off-piste section of the Chamonix ski resort, police said.

The man, who was from Boston, fell victim to an avalanche, police said.

He was skiing with a friend when he decided to go off-piste, despite the fact that meteorologists had rated the risk of avalanches in the area at four on a five-point scale.
