Two more arrests in Valbuena sex tape case
French authorities Friday made two more arrests in a investigation involving a purported sex tape allegedly used to blackmail international midfielder Mathieu Valbuena, a judicial source said.
The detentions follow those earlier in the week of former Liverpool and France striker Djibril Cisse and three other people for alleged involvement.
Cisse, 34, who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005, was arrested early on Tuesday and questioned by police in Versailles near Paris but released without charge.
He had himself made a complaint to police in 2008 after claiming he was the target of a similar blackmail attempt while playing for Marseille.
Those arrested are believed to be in possession of a sex tape that Lyon player Valbuena purportedly made with his partner.
After he was questioned, Cisse explained that he had been asked "to give my side of the story" but insisted that "I have never blackmailed anyone. Mathieu is a friend"
