Two dead, two injured in blast at French foundry
An explosion at a foundry in the Loire region of France killed two people and injured two others early Saturday, firemen said.
The blast around 4:45 am (0245 GMT) completely destroyed the building covering 800 square metres at the side of the railway line between the towns of Saint Etienne and Roanne, disrupting train services, they said.
Around 60 firemen and 20 fire engines went to the scene.
Firemen said the suspected cause was an explosion in an oven at the Feursmetal foundry.
