Tennis: Dellacqua gets French Open wild card

SYDNEY, May 11, 2007 (AFP) - Casey Dellacqua, Australia's fourth-highest ranked female tennis player, has received a wild card into the main draw of this month's French Open, Tennis Australia said Friday.

SYDNEY, May 11, 2007 (AFP) - Casey Dellacqua, Australia's fourth-highest ranked female tennis player, has received a wild card into the main draw of this month's French Open, Tennis Australia said Friday.

Dellacqua, 22, is ranked 126 in the world and will join compatriots Samantha Stosur (28), Nicole Pratt (45) and Alicia Molik (61) in the French Open main draw.

TA said the men's wild card would be awarded to the player who posted the best performances during the European clay court season, with a decision to be made prior to the start of the French Open qualifying rounds.

Australians Lleyton Hewitt (20) and Chris Guccione (103) have already secured their places in the main draw.

The French Open runs from May 27 to June 10.
