Strauss-Kahn not in position to lead IMF: Geithner
US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Tuesday that IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, charged with attempted rape, was "not in the position" to lead the world body, Dow Jones Newswires reported.
"He's obviously not in the position to run the IMF," Geithner said in response to a question at a conference in New York.
The Treasury secretary, in his first public comments on Strauss-Kahn since the IMF chief was arrested on Saturday on charges of sexual assault, stressed the importance for the Washington-based Fund to establish a plan for permanent leadership.
