PARIS, April 10 (AFP) - A Sri Lankan woman living in France has filed a complaint with police saying she was tortured by her husband and two of their sons because they suspected her of infidelity, police said Sunday.

The woman, 32, told police she had been burned with cigarettes and hot metal and whipped with electrical cord since her arrival in France several months ago. Her husband, who has worked in France for the past two years as a baker, was detained for questioning by police Saturday and was due to appear in court late Sunday.

Her 15-year-old twin sons were expected to face a judicial investigation, the first step before formal charges under the French legal system.
