South African Airways has ordered another five Airbus short-haul A320 aircraft to add to a previous order for 15, the European plane maker said on Thursday.

At catalogue prices, the five planes would cost 407 million dollars (332 million euros) but Airbus did not say how much the deal was worth.

"South African Airways has ordered five additional A320s," Airbus said in a statement, with delivery due to start in 2013.

SAA already counts 11 A319s and 21 long-haul A340s in its fleet.
