PARIS, May 6, 2007 (AFP) - The Socialist European deputy Pierre Moscovici admitted Segolene Royal's defeat in the French presidential election on Sunday, describing it as a blow to Socialists everywhere.

"I feel a tremendous sadness. This defeat is a defeat for Socialists," he told reporters at Socialist Party headquarters in Paris.
