Sick pilot forces Paris flight to New York down in Iceland
An Air France flight carrying 232 people from Paris to New York was forced to land in Reykjavik Monday after the pilot fell ill, the Keflavik airport said.
"The security landing -- not an emergency landing -- of the Air France Boeing 777 was due to an ill pilot," airport spokeswoman Hjordis Gudmundsdottir told AFP, adding the landing had not been dramatic.
The plane "was on-route from Paris to JFK in New York," she said, providing no further details on the pilot's condition.
A spokeswoman for the airport's international ground services also refused to comment on what was wrong with the pilot.
"I can only tell you that the plane will leave Keflavik to go to New York tomorrow morning at 1030 GMT," she told AFP.
