Russia to evacuate embassy, citizens from Libya: ministry
Russia will evacuate its embassy employees and citizens from Tripoli as US, British and French forces continue air raids in Libya, the Russian foreign ministry said Sunday.
"Considering the situation's development, the makeup of the Russian Embassy in Tripoli will be optimized," said the ministry's statement.
"Some of its employees and other Russain citizens will be evacuated in the coming days by car via Tunisia," it said, adding that Russia's opinion on the armed intervention has not changed.
Moscow on Saturday said it "regrets" the intervention which "was adopted in haste." Russian media also quoted a Kremlin source as saying that Russia's ambassador to Tripoli has been dismissed, without citing a reason.
