PARIS, June 14 (AFP) - A Romanian teenager who was set alight while sleeping in a carpark in Lille, northern France, died of his horrific injuries after spending days in intensive hospital care, Romanian diplomats said Monday.

The 18-year-old died Saturday, three days after a group of unidentified people broke the window of the car he was sleeping in, splashed inflammable liquid inside and set it on fire.

A 26-year-old compatriot who was also asleep in the vehicle remains in hospital with burns to 40 percent of his body, the Romanian consulate in Strasbourg said.
