PARIS - Daughters of the rich, famous and powerful will make their formal 'debuts' into high society in Paris in November.
The daughter of American actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, the daughter of Senegalese singer Youssou N'Dour, and the daughter of "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher will all attend the Debutante Ball, organisers said Monday.
The event, on 29 November, takes places every year at the Hotel de Crillon, and brings together the bright, young members of the international social scene together with some of the most stylish designer couture.
The international event is by invitation only.
The guests will also include royalty, as Victoria de Silva, daughter of Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, is expected to attend.
The Debutante Ball is inspired by an old aristocratic European tradition, where eligible young women were presented at court at the start of the social season. The 2008 event will raise money for a diabetes research charity.
