Renault says slide in Europe
French automaker Renault said Monday its vehicle sales had fallen 7.4 percent to 831,700 units in Europe, including France, in the first half of the year despite worldwide growth.
International sales were up 1.9 percent to 1.37 million vehicles for the first half of the year, the company said in a statement.
The company also said it was hoping to sell more than 2.6 million vehicles, a record, for the whole of 2011 on the strength of the improved international performance.
