The French group Publicis, the world's third largest advertising company, on Monday announced it is boosting its operations in China with the takeover of the Genedigi agency, which specialises in public relations.

The financial terms of the deal were not made public for the takeover of the Chinese company which employs 400 people and also deals with management consulting and brand management.

The Chinese operation will be integrated into the MSLGroup, the PR and communications arm of Publicis, the French group said in a statement.

The Genedigi Group, created in 1997, will conserve its name and will continue to be run by its founder Xiao Jun.

The deal will allow Publicis to become "the biggest public relations network in China, with over 650 employees in 11 offices in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan," the French group said in its statement.
