A man died Wednesday after the small plane he was flying with his family crashed in southern France, police and firefighters said.

The 53-year-old was killed instantly during the crash on landing at an airfield in the town of Carpentras.

One of his 20-year-old twin daughters suffered serious chest injuries, while his wife, 54, and other daughter suffered minor injuries.
