PARIS, Feb 8, 2007 (AFP) - Arielle Dombasle, 53 year-old singer, actress and wife of star French philosopher Bernard Henri-Levy, is to push back the artistic frontiers by appearing near-nude from this weekend at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris.

Taking the stage name Dolores Sugar Rose, Dombasle performs songs from her new album of Broadway musical classics -- "C'est Si Bon" (It's so good) -- alongside the nightclub's regular troupe of bare-breasted dancers.

"When you are in a place which is like a temple to the art of the nude, you have to combine voice with body ... I try to enter the logic of the Crazy Horse, which is all about naked bodies sculpted by light," she told Paris-Match magazine, which carried a topless photograph of her on its front-page.

Born in the US in 1953, Dombasle made her name as an actress in the 1983 "Pauline a la plage" and has released six albums of songs.
