Pernod Ricard says Q3 sales rose 5%
The French wine and spirits group Pernod Ricard said Thursday that sales in the third quarter of its 2011/2012 fiscal year had gained five percent to 1.7 billion euros ($2.2 billion).
Ricard put the gains down to dynamic demand in emerging markets and a rebound in North America.
In the first nine months of the company's year which begins on July 1, sales were seven percent higher at 6.3 billion euros, a statement said.
Ricard's figures showed growth was most dynamic outside Europe, where nine-month sales gained 15 percent in value, compared with growth in France of eight percent, and just one percent for Europe as a whole.
