Paris probes ousted Tunisia leader's assets: prosecutor
The Paris state prosecutor's office said Monday it had opened an investigation into the real estate assets of ousted Tunisia leader Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in the French capital.
The inquiry was opened after three activist groups filed a civil suit against the leader who is accused of plundering the north African country's resources during his 23-year reign.
The three groups said the wealth amassed by the ousted dictator and his entourage was estimated at five billion dollars (3.6 billion euros).
