Paris expects academic's return from Iran 'without delay': ministry
France expects the "return without delay" of a French researcher arrested in Iran, a spokesman for the French foreign ministry said Saturday after her lawyer said she would be allowed to leave the country.
"We have taken note of the legal authorities decision concerning Clotilde Reiss and we are therefore expecting her return without delay," foreign ministry spokesman Bernard Valero told AFP.
He declined to comment any further on the decision or how she would be returned to France.
Iranian authorities arrested Reiss, 24, on July 1 during post-election unrest and put her on trial in August charged with acting against national security.
A lawyer Reiss said earlier Saturday she would be allowed to leave the country soon after a large fine was paid.
