PARIS, Dec 12, 2006 (AFP) - French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy on Tuesday condemned the resurgence of revisionist ideas on the Holocaust at a conference in Iran, calling them "unacceptable".

"We are witnessing the reemergence of revisionist ideas that are quite simply unacceptable," Douste-Blazy said to applause from France's National Assembly, repeating his "strongest condemnation" of the event in Tehran.

Facing down a torrent of international protest, Iran Tuesday pressed on with its conference where several Western 'scholars' cast doubt on whether the mass slaughter of six million Jews by Nazi Germany during World War II took place.
